Site grading

Shape the ground right and everything on top of it lasts. For Florida properties, proper grading helps keep heavy rain moving away from driveways and lots.

Water is asphalt's worst enemy. Grading is the answer.

Every pothole, sunken patch, and alligator crack you've ever seen started the same way: water ended up somewhere it shouldn't have. If the surface doesn't shed water properly, it pools, seeps in, and weakens the base. Florida downpours make cross-slope and drainage a priority before the first load of asphalt arrives.

Soil and slope decide the job

From sandy ground to existing fill, each Florida property needs its own drainage plan. A flat lot and a sloped driveway need different approaches to move water away from the pavement. We cut, fill, and shape for the soil and slope you actually have, not a textbook one.

What site grading with A Team Asphalt includes

  • Site walk with drainage, slope, and soil conditions all factored in
  • Cut and fill: removing high spots, building up lows, and stabilizing soft areas
  • Proper cross-slope so water runs off your driveway or lot, not under it
  • Shaping around landscaping, curbs, walkways, and garage aprons without tearing them up
  • Compaction of the graded base so it's a solid platform for whatever comes next
  • Coordination with excavators, utilities, or other trades already on site

Standalone grading or bundled with paving

We take grading jobs as a standalone service: leveling a yard, preparing a future paving project, fixing a drainage issue that's eating your lawn, or shaping a pad for a shed or outbuilding. Or we bundle grading into a full paving job so you get one crew, one schedule, and one point of contact from dig-out to finish coat.

Got a drainage problem you're not sure how to fix?

Call and we'll come look. If grading solves it, we'll tell you. If the problem is actually a failed base, a broken downspout, or somebody else's runoff, we'll tell you that too. No upsell, no runaround. You can also reach us on Facebook.
